The following main areas fall outside the Foundation’s Creating Change Programme.

• Organisations that are not recognised as a registered charity by the Inland Revenue.
• Organisations with an income over £250,000 per annum across the organisation in Northern Ireland.
• Individuals, including students.
• Animal welfare.
• Environmental projects including those that deal with geographic and scenic issues. However, the Trustees may consider projects that improve the living conditions of disadvantaged individuals and groups.
• Activities that are normally the responsibility of central or local government or some other responsible body.
• Schools, universities and colleges (except for projects specifically to benefit students with special needs).
• Hospitals and Medical Centres.
• Sponsorship or marketing appeals.
• Fabric appeals for places of worship.
• Promotion of religion.
• Activities that collect funds for subsequent redistribution to others.
• Endowment funds.
• Fundraising events or activities.
• Corporate affiliation or membership of a charity.
• Loans or business finance.
• Expeditions or overseas travel.
• Construction of and extension to buildings or refurbishment.
• Pre school, play groups and after schools groups.
• Projects that take place outside of Northern Ireland.
